Clarity in year three

Lauren Cook, Founder

As we enter our third year of business at Connecting Our Stories (COS), I feel so much confidence and optimism around our three service areas:

Storytelling

Coaching

Gatherings

It was important to me to enter into year three with clarity. I wanted our COS team to be able to easily describe what we do and for whom. And now, we can.

“I’m Lauren Cook and I own a consulting firm called Connecting Our Stories. We provide storytelling, coaching, and gatherings to help organizations connect with their people and purpose.”

Sounds good, right? I love it.

And yet . . . the word clarity doesn’t just mean understandability or clearness.

It originates from the 1300’s French word clarté, meaning “brightness, radiance, glory, splendor." Like how we talk about diamond clarity!

So as much as we may like easily-explainable and straightforward services, mission statements, elevator pitches, proposals, and the like, I am challenging the COS team and myself to embody clarity in its fullest sense in year three.

Where can we shine?

How will our splendor – our magnificent qualities – come through in our work and our interactions?

Each of us has brightness within, and our collective light is what makes Connecting Our Stories special. The magic of how we work together combined with how we think, feel, and create on behalf of our clients and communities radiates bold clarity. In the past two years, I’ve seen:

Charlotte sparkle as she coaches young storytellers and videographers

Victoria’s radiance as she pushes us to think about the voices and truths within the folds of data and research

Anne’s splendor behind a camera lens or behind the solution to a strategic challenge

And I recently felt an inner glow while facilitating a small group gathering. There was palpable shared humanity, and a friend described leaving with “a full heart.”

So we ask you, our beloved colleagues and friends, please share our three services with individuals, organizations, and businesses you think may be ready “for the hour of new clarity.”  It would be our honor to support their splendor!
